Welcome to our first installment of Travelin’ Light. Simply put, this e-newsletter is intended to remind all of us that we are God’s stewards and keep us focused on the task at hand. We intend to share biblical principles of financial stewardship and practical applications that you can implement and use on your stewardship journey. We firmly believe that we are all God’s stewards and are on a journey towards that end.
We realize stewardship is more than finances; In fact, God has given all of us time, treasures, and talents that we can use to help build up his kingdom. Each of these three resources is important and hopefully, we use all of them effectively in our lives. However, for some reason, the Bible seems to address the area of financial stewardship more than the others (there are over 2,000 references to money in scripture!). Maybe that is because money and finances seem to touch almost every area of our lives. Because of that, this newsletter will stick largely to the ‘treasure’ aspect of stewardship. If God thinks financial stewardship is that important, we want to ensure its proper placement in our lives.
So, what are some of the key principles of financial stewardship? Below you find some concepts that will likely recur in this newsletter:

- Stewardship has eternal significance (I Corinthians 3:11-14)

You might be thinking, Do I need another newsletter delivered to my inbox? We certainly think so! Look for an installment each month. We intend to curate some of the best ideas and thought-provoking content from the web. Each installment will contain a small number of links to articles, videos, blogs, and anything else we find interesting or potentially helpful. Occasionally we may even provide some original content.
We know that we are all at different stages on our stewardship journey. Some of us are young and just getting started. Others are looking to finish strong as they look to leave a lasting legacy to those who come after. Therefore, we intend to include articles that speak to a diverse audience at different ‘seasons of life’.
